My humble opinion of the MA Gov Race

As predicted by Michael Graham (www.michaelgraham.com) Deval Patrick won the democrat (not democratic) party primary in the race for the corner office.
It took less than a day for the head of the state democrat party to play the race card. Deval, for those not familiar, is black. Not an issue for me but the head of the state party declared that attacking Deval for his far left positions in favor of in state tuition discounts and drivers licenses for illegals is off limits. He declared that this would be race baiting.
I suspect that Deval, if elected, would declare all of Massachusetts a sanctuary for illegals and seek to fire any police officer that inquires about the immigration status of a criminal under arrest.
The state house and senate almost passed the two benefits for illegals until talk radio and the Boston Heral shamed them into backing down. The Boston Globe always sides will illegals and terrorists and against American citizens when ever they pick sides on an issue.
As for what to expect in November? I believe that, though Massachusetts voters continue to send communists and socialists back to state and federal congresional positions, they still remember well when there is not at least one check on Beacon hill. Therefore I predict the Kerry Healey will win. Deval will implode because he is farther left than the vast majority of MA voters.
My opinion of Deval is the he is a self hating left wing liberal. He has to hate himself to hold the positions he does on affirmative action and the so-called "gap between the rich and poor" as his is a rich black man who worked his ass off to get where he is. To hold the political beliefs he does, he must believe that the government, not his own effort, got him where he is. He must believe that he stole from someone else to amass enough wealth to clear several acres of Berkshires forest to build a mansion.
In contrast , down Maryland, a black republican candidate is subject to assaults with Oreo Cookies, is regular called everything from "Uncle Tom" to race traitor.
So it is clear that there is one party that only supports "choice" when people are making choices they approve of. The only believe in freedom of speech when they are not offended by it, then they call it hate speech and demand laws against it. They only believe in freedom of association when black politcians associate with democrats.

Nuff Sedd for this rant.

Kick it off

This year I took the whole family camping for the anual fall crawl off road event.
We got to the camp ground (base camp), in Hancock New Hampshire, just before dark Friday night. It was completely darm by the time we set up the tent.
At least we had time to get a fire going and roast some hot dogs on sticks over the fire.

Saturday Morning, my daughter woke up sick so she and the wife had to stay back at camp while "the boys" hit the trail with an aggressive class 6 road group.
For those not familiar, Class 6 roads are legal roads but rest assured, no Honda Civic could pass them.

At the staging area, there were over 100 vehicles. Most of them were Jeeps CJs and Wranglers, a good bunch of Cherokees and the rest a mix of other 4x4's.

Our group headed out at 9:15 am. as we approached the last house on the road, the owner proved to be just as nutty and clueless about the law as the previous owner. When informed that her understanding of the law was wrong, she resorted to language not suitable for the children present in the vehicle. She said she was going to call the cops. Of course, the group leader said that the chief already knows we were coming. She stormed off, not at all satified. We found out later that she did the same thing to the next group even though she knew now what the law was.

The road was reasonably challanging considering it was a legal road. Hit one spot that forced me to realize my front axle was not engaging. So it was a brief stop for a little temporary fix and realizing I finally had that excuse to upgrade my front axle. yippy.

Anyway, the day was a blast. My son made some new friends with other sons that were with their families on the trail.

Nuff sedd for now
